Fees and Frequently Asked QuestionsHow the sessions are structured How the sessions are structuredMost of the sessions take one hour, which includes about 50 minutes of time spent with the client and about 10 minutes for the hypnotherapist to write notes and prepare records for the next session. Each session consists of the counselling part, which takes most of the first session and between 10 to 20 minutes of subsequent sessions. The counselling part is very important. This is when the therapy is tailored for the client needs. The hypnotherapist must gather all the necessary information from the client. It is also the time when the client is helped to specify exactly what the goals are and how they are to be reached. The counselling is followed by a hypnotic session, when the therapy is performed. The first hypnotic session is usually shorter, because the counselling part would be longer. Sometimes the client needs only a shorter, 30 minutes "boost" session, but
they are only used as a part of a longer hypnotherapy process. Why do I need to do exercises at home?At each session the client is given some homework to do - usually the client is taught the relaxation technique on the first session, and then self hypnosis. It is very important to follow these exercises as they are an important part of the hypnotherapy process. They save the client money (less sessions will be needed) and they make the therapy success permanent. They also enable the client to deal with any future issues by themselves, without any help (even more money saved). How many sessions will you needThis is difficult to answer before knowing what is your issue or your goal. It usually takes from 2 to 5 or 6 sessions for most of the cases. However, it may happen that your issue will be solved in the first session. But usually at least one additional session is needed to assure that the results are lasting. Sometimes more then 5-6 sessions are required. And there are times when the client is happy with one issue solved and he wants to proceeded with other issues or goals. We always evaluate the therapy process every three or four session and we discuss any possible changes with the client. The fees and payment methods
The payment is required at the end of each session. I offer significant discounts in some situations, when the therapy is really needed and the client is experiencing financial difficulties. I asses the client during the initial consultation. The location and consulting hoursThe City location is in the historic BMA house opposite Botanic
Gardens. The Pennant Hills location is about 10 minutes walking distance from
the train station. Online booking, locations (including maps) and contact details: Is the hypnotherapy covered by health insuranceSome health insurance providers cover hypnotherapy, at the moment there are over 25 of them. Please check with your health insurance provider. The hypnotherapy is becoming accepted by the medical professionals, so more health providers are prepared to extend their cover. What is in the first free consultationThe first free consultation is the time when you can discuss your issues and goals with the hypnotherapist, ask the questions you need to ask about the hypnotherapy process, about the hypnosis, how many session you can expect. At the and of the consultation you may choose to have a short hypnotic experience, just to try how it feels. The duration of the first consultation is usually about half an hour. It is beneficial to book the free consultation and the first one-hour session together, in one block. This way most of the counselling will be done during the first 30 minutes, so more time during the first session will be spent on hypnotherapy. The initial consultation is completely obligation free. You do not need to book for the next session if for whatever reason you decide that hypnotherapy is not for you. Even if you booked the free consultation and the first session together, there are no obligations for you to stay. Our cancellation policy
What if you come late for the sessionIf you come late, the session will be shorter and you will be charged the full fee. We are usually fully booked - and it means that we must keep up with the schedule. This way we do not keep our clients waiting. What is a difference between the hypnosis CD and a personal session with a hypnotherapist? There are many hypnosis CDs, some of them just teaching how to relax, and some claiming help and instant fix in many areas, including life lasting phobias and past life regression. I would not object to relaxing, general wellbeing hypnosis CDs. They may be very beneficial and if you enjoy them, keep enjoying. If listening to them became a chore and is boring, perhaps you rather listen to some nice music, because you will better relax when you enjoy what you hear. Other hypnosis CDs may be beneficial, but they may also be harmful. People are different. We all have different bodies; our minds and souls differ even more. I saw many clients for the same issue, but never two the same cases. Take a simple phobia like a fear of flying. The reason of fear could be a turbulent flight when a teenager, could be your mum having bad cold and too tired to take care of you when you where a baby flying for family holidays, or it could be a fear of heights, or a fear of death, and you are too scared to expressed it. As many reasons as clients. The same is with solution, every client is using his/her own resources to overcome the fear. Sometimes the words on that “suits all” CD may match your situation, and if they are good, they will let you find your own solution. More often your issue will be more personal that generalized problem for which the CD is made, so there will be no benefit and no harm. However, sometimes the CD will access the deep emotions, will revoke some traumas and will leave you in a very unstable situation, very upset. This is different when you are under the care of a professional clinical hypnotherapist.
My strong recommendation is that when the problem affects you on a high level and it causes strong personal distress, you always seek professional help of well trained clinical hypnotherapist.
